JOB TITLE: Physical Therapist Assistant
JOB CLASSIFICATION: Part time, 20 hours per week; Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Clinical Services Manager
Provide direct care services under the direction and supervision of a Physical Therapist.  This position is responsible for documenting patient treatments, changes in condition, communicating patient progress or problems to supervisor and other team members; and other pertinent information as required.  The PTA will measure effectiveness of techniques and consumer satisfaction.  


  1. Implement treatment to consumers under direction of physical therapist.
  2. Oversee completion of required documentation for physical therapy services.
  3. Assist with program development.
  4. Participate in team/family conferences.
  5. Provide community outings when appropriate (e.g. grocery shopping, recreational activities, fitness center, work trials).
  6. Participate in discharge planning.
  7. Provide consumer/family education when needed.
  8. Complete CEUs to maintain licensure.
  9. Recommend adaptive equipment as needed.
  10. Participate in fundraising activities.
  11. Complete continuing education credits as required to maintain licensure.
  12. Maintain clean and orderly environment.
  13. Familiarize self with and follows facility and department Policies and Procedures.
  14. Follow all personnel policies.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program culminating in an Associate's degree.  Current and valid Missouri state PTA license. Experience with brain injury or neurological conditions populations preferred. MANDT crisis intervention certification, CPR certification and first aid training required (these trainings will be provided upon hire along with required agency trainings).
