Are you a dog lover? Do you enjoy baking and preparing high-quality food products? Are good supervising and teaching others? Wags in a Bag, the all natural dog treat bakery, is looking for an organized, detail-oriented person to lead production of treats for man's best friend.

JOB TITLE: Production Lead & Trainer
JOB CLASSIFICATION: Full time, 40 hours/week; Non-Exempt
JOB PURPOSE: Assist manager in producing high quality, all natural dog treats. Help provide support services to social enterprise employees with disabilities.


  • Assist with operations of dog treat production; including planning, assigning tasks and participate in the preparation, baking, dehydration, decorating and packaging of products.
  • Assist in supervision and training of other kitchen employees and training participants.
  • Determine quantities of ingredients to be prepared daily based on orders.
  • Maintain records of production quantities, product waste and ingredients used.
  • Assist with product research and development of future products.
  • Update supervisor when stock of food items or supplies are low and place orders when necessary to ensure proper inventory levels are maintained.
  • Assign, supervise and participate in daily trash removal and cleaning of production areas
  • Comply with food safety and sanitation guidelines.


  • Requires prolonged standing and sitting.
  • Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull or push objects or materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires stooping, bending and reaching.
  • Must work in and around fumes and odors.
  • Must maintain appropriate levels of personal hygiene.
  • Must follow enterprise guidelines on food service dress code.
  • Must work with electrical appliances.
  • Must work with dishwashing liquids and powders, solvents and other cleaning chemicals.
  • Must work in environments of above average heat or cold.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent required. Knowledge of food preparation and safe food handling required; background in food production and/or supervisory experience preferred. Experience working with disability populations highly preferred. Must be able to read a recipe and follow through to completion.
MISCELLANEOUS: Must have effective communication skills, basic math skills and the ability to effectively multitask and prioritize to meet deadlines. CPR certification and first aid training required (these trainings will be provided upon hire along with required agency trainings).
