Destination Desserts, the gourmet dessert bakery and food truck, is looking for a customer-focused, forward-thinking person to help operate our food truck. 

JOB TITLE: Food Truck Manager, 40 hours/week
JOB PURPOSE: Manage the complete operation of social enterprise food truck, including personnel supervision/training, event scheduling/promotion, maintaining health department requirements and customer service. Provide support services to social enterprise employees with disabilities.


  • Manage all day-to-day functions of the food truck. 
  • Schedule all events for the food truck and actively seek/request participation in area "food truck" events.
  • Supervise all food truck personnel and trainees, including setting schedules.
  •  Ensure that all personnel driving/operating the food truck are trained and prepared to serve.
  • Effectively use social media to promote the social enterprises and scheduled food truck events. 
  • Responsible for content of the Destination Desserts website; work with Agency Marketing Department to keep the website updated and fresh.
  • Track and schedule all required service to ensure all truck systems are in good operating order. 
  • Create food truck revenue forecasts and budgets. 
  • Act as the Destination Desserts representative to the St. Louis Food Truck Association.
  • Assist in the kitchen, when assistance is requested and when time allows. 
  • Work with kitchen chefs to identify, solicit and acquire new corporate baking clients. 


  • Requires prolonged sitting and standing.
  • Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects up to 50 lbs or materials.
  • Requires stooping, bending and reaching.
  • Must work in and around fumes and odors and work with dishwashing liquids and powders, solvents and other cleaning chemicals.
  • Must work in environments of above average heat or cold.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent required, some college or undergraduate degree preferred. Knowledge of food preparation required, bakery/restaurant experience preferred. Direct customer service experience required, previous management/supervisory experience preferred. Experience in commercial vehicle driving preferred. Must have valid safe food handling certification or have the ability to acquire certification. Must have a valid commercial driver's license or have the ability to obtain commercial driver's license.
MISCELLANEOUS: Must have effective communication skills, problem solving skills and the ability to manage stressful situations to a successful outcome. CPR certification and first aid training required (these trainings will be provided upon hire along with required agency trainings).
